L'EAU D'ISSEY

Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer, widely recognised for his technology - driven clothing designs and exhibitions

In this blog, I’m going to be looking at his fragrance L’eau D’Issey. What I love about this campaign and the bottle design is the freshness and purity of it. There is a harmony of simple, subtle shapes that trickle down to flower meeting water. The slender, sleek bottle is almost avant-garde in way that fragrance bottles tend to be chunkier not delicate and minimal like this one.

The campaign highlights the aquatic, floral fragrance as the bottle is the focal point on the advertisements. I really like how the bottle is also genderless not shouting a stereotypical colour in your face. No women, men or muses are shown at any point - just the essentials. There is a sense of genderless, extreme purity.
