GENERATION Z

Generation Z are the generation born after millennials also joked as ‘millennials on steroids’ (born between 1995 and 2009.) They are becoming the fastest growing generation with a population of 2 billion. As Gen Z were bought up on technology, they are extremely tech savvy which gives brands a platform to advertise directly to them - especially with the use of cookies and data brands can now target your social media to show adverts for similar things you have been browsing on other sites. Generation Z have been described as ‘living through their phones’ connecting and receiving information every minute which makes them more open and susceptible to change. They’ve developed a rebellious sense of identity as they’re politically and socially aware - 60% want to make a difference in the world and 76% are worried about the planet.

Constantly doing something, their curiosity for new things/styles give them a sense of independence. Technology provides endless possibilities for them so they have a fresh approach to life that gives a sense of confidence - most university graduates are able to companies and invent themselves jobs. By 2020 Gen Z will make up 40% of all consumers so the demand for strategies to appeal to them has never been higher. Social media and the internet is their platform for finding and expressing everything - here are some statistics to show they’re digital integrators:
